Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | Try moving the bird farther or closer to the t-motor and check for increased or decreased interference. If the interference is coming through the air, a ferrite on the power cable isn't going to help much. Then only distance will help.
Check to see whether the power cord for the bird is running parallel (or close) to the power cord for the motor. If it is, try moving it to cut down on coupling.
I've knocked out some interference on past units I had by putting a filter (cap and resistor tuned for the frequency of the t-motor) across the battery leads of the locator at the battery.
Is the bird on the same battery as the t-motor? If so, try putting it on the battery for the big motor. If no big motor battery, just borrow another battery to try powering the bird to see if that's the problem. If your t-motor battery is dropping too much voltage when the t-motor is running, the bird will be unhappy as it's designed for a minimum supply voltage and it's feathers will be all tied up in a bunch.
Can you try another transducer on the bird? Does that get rid of the interference? I had a US on a Lowrance that sent interference through the transducer cable and the only fix for that was a different US unit for the t-motor.
I'm in Cedarburg, but don't have a bird on my boat, so that's no help for parts to try.
