Whynot is correct. The ethernet cable does not allow for waypoints to be shared. You need to network the two units which will then allow you to share waypoints. The ethernet cable will allow you to exchange data between units and add other add-on features.

For example, if you want to be able to choose which transducer reads on both units, the ethernet cable allows you to do that. If you want to read StructureScan on both units, the ethernet cable will allow it. Reading mapping cards off one unit will not allow you to read cards on another unit. This has never been allowed, you'll need to have two seperate mapping cards in each unit.
