Location: central illinois		I would get a 9.9. When it comes to a kicker how much more does a 9.9 weigh than an 8 or 6. Navigator's are pretty big 16 or 17ft. I see you prefer a Yamaha, I really don't know if they make a 9.9...if your favorite lake has a 10 horse limit get as close to 10 horses as you can. My boat is my lighter than yours and I have a 9.5 2 stroke and I'm lucky to go 7mph w/ the wind at my back(according to my Lowrance Gps speed).
