| Its possible the alternator on the motor is not sufficiently charging the battery. So, the HDS uses some juice, the motor uses some juice starting, etc and anything else you have on there like lights, livewell, etc.
If you can check amperage/voltage, try checking amperage with and without the motor running to see if there is an increase while the motor is running. There should be.
Otherwise, a master power switch is really needed. Still not buying that the HDS is the sole problem, but a master power switch should exist regardless if it doesnt already. | |
