Subject: MELTED CARPET

I have a 2006 Ranger 619 that has a casting deck about 2'x3' on the back. While working on the boat, a shop light with a 100 watt bulb fell on the carpet for a few minutes, and melted a spot on the carpet. I called Ranger, and they said that the deck is not wood, but fiberglass and part of the boat so the deck can't be removed. Does anybody know what I should do to replace that piece of carpet. How to get it off, where to get carpet, and how to install the new stuff? It is so neatly tucked in the corners at the edges. Any ideas would be a great help, it is such a nice looking boat!
