Thanks for all the helpfull information and suggestions. So many choices and they all have their advantages. I went with the Lowrance Elite-4x DSI Color Imaging Fishfinder for $199 from Bass Pro. Almost bought one online for cheaper, but I live very close to a BP and gave them some business. I think the high resolution imaging in color will not only be productive but will also be fun to explore the bottom of lakes I fish.
