Hiya,

In the smaller motors, you will notice very little difference in noise level between 2 and 4 stroke engines. I switched from a 6hp 2 stroke to an 8hp 4 stroke and don't notice much difference at all.

Gas usage will be a touch better in the 4 stroke as compared to the 2, so in making a decision on which to go with, I would consider whether or not you can just "T" off from your main line (or better yet two outlets from a fuel/water separator) with two separate bulbs. If you can do that, I would say 4 stroke would be nicer as you would not need a separate gas tank.
