Location: Otsego, MN | I have experience fishing out of the 620T. I've not experienced anything on the boat but a 115 yami and it pushes the boat along just fine top speed with 2 guys has been about 38. I would really recommend getting some sort of power steering with what ever boat you decide on. I really like the rod lockers in the Ranger. In the 620T they are both 9'6" on each side, so it easily handles anything you want to throw in them. The storage is really nice in them to.
I have fished out of and owned the pre 2009 model that has the option of a rear casting deck option. It would be nice to have that if you get a 2009 or newer. Handles the nastiest of seas and can take a pounding. Lambeau gave a good report back on the Skeeter which looks like a sweet boat itself. IMO you can go wrong with what ever you choose. If I could do it all over again I would go with something with a 150 on it, because if you want to get some speed your not going to get it in any 20ft tiller with a 115, but the fish ability of these boats is second to none. Good luck with your choice and I'm sure you will love which ever you choose. |
