it can look funny, but people find ways to do it all the time.

the rub really comes in getting enough transom space to accept the mount or lift. the bouncing or vibration while on the trailer or running on plane is probably the toughest thing on the mount, so it needs to be secured somewhere that can handle it.

measure your available mounting surface carefully and look at your options.

another route that some people choose is to buy or make a custom set-back plate for the kicker that is mounted to the main motor's mounting bolts. this gets around the transom issue nicely.
