Location: north central wisconsin		mine typically do too as stated(actually waste of time to take them completely off in my case, but need to get them folded face down, and covered). However, out of say a hundred trips to and from the house to the landing last year, I left it in the full upright position on the way home a couple of times. Just enough to get 'something' on it.
