Location: Wisconsin | When I was comparing both systems, Lowrance has a better networking system. Not only can I network the units together and share waypoints, but also when I upgrade and add the structure scan, I will have it available on both or all three units. You can't do this in the HB system without having two SI transducers. Lowrance's sonar also seem to function better, HB still has to get out of the "fish ID cartoons" train of thought that prevails on all their units, plus Lowrance I can set up the screens exactly how I want to see information and data. Customizations. The icing on the cake was the SonicHub which I can charge my iPhone while listening to music and Sirius WX really helped out a couple times this summer with tracking storms.
The only thing I did like about the HB systems was the lakemaster maps. Seemed to be a little more robust. But I haven't had any issues with Navionics and Lakemaster is downright terrible for lake selection up north in Vilas county. |
