Find the center of you gunnel. 1, Place the rail into position, (have a buddy hold the rail in place). 2. Mark the holes with a sharp object (ice pick). 3. Start out by drilling a small pilot hole (slow speed). 4. Increase the bit size to the hole you want drill. 5. Chamfer the hole. Some say you can chamfer the hole after step 3. I did it at the end and the hole was nice and clean. Make sure you are clear of any wires or anything else that may be inside the gunnel before you start drilling. Hope this helps.
