I have a 2001 225 Opti. They weren't bad motors. I have around 1750 hours on mine, but put a new short block on in 2006, and rebuild it again in 2008. I've put almost every replaceable part on the engine that you can put on. But that's not too much differance than any other motor I've had.

Like Steve says, if it's been well maintained and updated, and not too many hours (200-400 or less). They aren't bad engines. Get a good mechinics opinion.
