| The Skeeter seems to be a fine boat, but that back deck design seems a little goofy. I bought a Ranger 1850RS last fall to primarily fish muskies out of but double as the family tubing, kneeboarding, etc. boat. I love it. The back deck is huge. It does not have a traditional full-length splashwell, but the guy casting from the rear has tons of space. Plus, my family has found that the Ranger's rear deck design without the full length splashwell is very kid-friendly for jumping off of, swimming, and getting back in the boat. This type of design might not work well for backtrolling or really big water, but I have never had water come over the back of this boat and a full-length splashwell has not been missed on this boat. The downside of the Ranger 1850 is the 7 foot rod storage. Other than that, if you are looking at the Skeeter wx1850 and are concerned about the deck, do yourself a favor and at least look at the Ranger Reata 1850RS. | |
