Hi, You need to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

With that said; screwing it to the bottom won't work, you can't have any airspace between the puck & the hull- none! Any airspace what so ever will cause major issues.

Use a good high grade clear epoxy - I don't think Bondo would work to well as there could be air bubbles entrapped in the Bondo. Make sure you have the right location & that the spot is free of dirt & grease.

Here's some helpful doc's. The second one is most detailed- the RTV dam around the puck location is a good idea as it prevents the epoxy from flattening out/flowing away from the puck.
