An old wise muskie angler once told me to think about how a fish is created. Fish like muskies have white bellies. Why is this? For camouflage purposes. If one fish is looking up at the white belly of another fish, it would be hard to see it against a blue sky, a cloud covered sky, etc. Like the pic below. How much better can you see the dark tips of the shark vs the white of its belly?
