Hi Rob,

I would probably mount it to the transom on the inside of the splashwell. That way you have easy access to it, and if you get one of the clear filters, you can see if you are getting water building up in the filter bowl.

To mount to the transom, all you need are a couple of good screws, silicone and a drill. Find your mounting position, drill and attach, but make sure before you put your screws in that you fill and surround the hole with silicone...doing that will keep water out.

The hose is probably a 5/16" id hose.
