If I were you I'd look into bedliner for the trailer it will hold up alot better and you can get it in just about any color.

you see various boat brands advertize this as trailer "Armor" but you can do it yourself, too. i've done it to a couple trailers with great success: it's inexpensive, easy to apply (i used spray cans) and resists rock chips much better than paint. the downside is that it's not as shiny/glossy as paint. you do have to be careful to mask those areas you don't want to hit such as fiberglass fenders, and apply it evenly so that it doesn't goop up from being too thick. as mentioned if you can remove certain parts such as the winch, lights, and hitch it'll really simplify things.
