The 597 is a new unit pry not too much out about it right now...If you do a search on google you should be able to find a few sites that people are talking about them, bassboatcentral for one...Im pretty sure that the 797 is discontinued to the 798 series. Whether you want side imaging or not is up to you. One thing is the units with side imaging also have down imaging.
http://www.reedssports.com has the old model 798 (same as new minus the use of ethernet) for $798 shipped the 798hd is $1049.
