Location: Verona, WI | I recently had the opportunity to pick up a used Lowrance LCX-111c at a good price. I currently have two Lowrance LCX-17M units on my boat (one on console an d one on bow) and wanted to replace the bow unit with the new LCX-111c. Since they all have the blue plugs and use the same GPS pod, this should be easy. I removed the bow LCX17 and plugged in the new unit. However, when I plug the unit in it fires up for just a second and then shuts down. Uggh.
My first reaction was the unit was bad (hence the good price). To double check, I put the LCX-17 back on the bow and it worked fine. I then removed by console LCX-17 and put the LCX-111c on my console and the unit fired up normally so now I know it's not the new LCX-111 unit.
Is there something I am missing here as too why the 111 would not work on the bow but would work on the console?
