Subject: How big of a garage door?

I don't know about how wide my garage door is, but I am greatfull for my 25' deep garage. My 18' Tuffy fits in there without removing the tongue, and with the motor up. I still have about a foot behind the engine. I would say plan on a width around 9 feet for your boat. That way if you decide to upgrade your boat, you will not have to worry about the width. My suggestion would be, make your garage as large as possible. If your house is 28 feet deep, make your garage as deep as your house. As far as width goes, make yourself a 3 car garage. That way you have a stall for your vehicle, a stall for her vehicle, and a stall for your boat. This way also you will have enough area by your vehicles for a workbench area.
