I would have to agree muskiemetal. I'd guess those fish aren't really fish.

Side story. I can't remember if a friend told me or if I read it on here. A guy buys one of the cheap units from walmart. He took it out fishing and it was marking fish everywhere. He tried different setting but it was still marking fish. After coming to the conclusion that something was wrong with it, he decided to take it back. But before he did he thought he would try something. So before taking everything off the boat he tried putting the transducer into a 5 gallon bucket of water. Turned it on and sure enough it was marking fish. So knowing for sure that something was wrong unit he took it back and explained his story to the department guy. In disbelief, the department guy wanted to try it and see if it really would mark fish in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Endless to say it did and they had a few laughs about it. I think he just got his money back instead of exchanging it.

Whether it is a true or not, your post reminded me of this story and I thought I would share it.

Anyways back to the subject at hand, I have a hds 10 and hds 7 with the lss-1 on my boat and I would have to say you should probably trust your hds more than your eagle unit.

I usually don't worry to much about marking fish and really don't pay that much attention to it. The thing about fish id is that it isn't very accurate. Sometimes it marks them as fish and most of the time it doesn't.
