Maybe there's not any fish where you were looking?

When I had the trolling motor in the eagle was marking fish then when the back of the boat went over the same spot the hds showed nothing I even tured around a few times the eagle marked the same fish holding tight to some stumps and the hds showed nothing agian. I was hopeing somebody might have an idea of what the problem might be.
