Subject: Re: Broken Trolling Motor Shaft ??

While driving back from hayward this weekend my trolling motor somehow deployed on the highway. I saw it flip up in the rearview mirror, go down, then heard the scraping and pulled over immediately. One of the fins snapped off the prop and it was dragging on the skag of the motor. Shaft was hardly bent up. Just lucky I didn't hit a bad patch in the road and snap the shaft right in half. I was actually surprised how much the shaft could flex. BTW, mine is a powerdrive as well.

In addition to that, when the storms came through saturday night, a large (5" round) limb fell from a tree and put a big dent in the hood of my new truck.
