Location: Iowa | Last year, I bought a 2003 189 dc Triton and I am pretty happy with it. I fish some of the small lakes down here in Iowa and am on Leech two or three weeks a year. It'll handle about any wave actions you want to throw at it. It weights about 3400 - 3500 lbs (depending on gear & with no people), has a tandem axle trailer and pulls great behind my half-ton ford. If you can find one in decent shape for a decent price, I would recommend stopping and taking a look at one.
It might be a little out your weight range but if you want a dual console fiberglass boat in the 18' range with maxed out hp motor - then you are going to be pulling around a heavier boat.
