I JUST GOT A HDS 8 FOR THE WHEEL, HAVE A 520C UP FRONT WITH POWER AND SONAR. LOOKING TO GET A 4000 PUCK AND USE THE PUCK FOR BOTH UNITS. I UNDERSTAND YOU NEED NMEA 2000 NETWORKING TO USE THE PUCK FOR BOTH UNITS, WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS IF YOU NEED TO POWER THE PUCK SEPERATELY, OR THE PUCK WILL BE POWERED WHEN YOU POWER THE NETWORK????

ONE OTHER THING, DO I NEED A ETHERNET CABLE, OR IS THAT JUST NEEDED TO TRANSFER WAYPOINTS????

IS THE ETHERNET JUST FOR HDS UNITS COMMUNICATING TOGETHER?????
