Your GPS has a waterproof rating specification (IPX-7) that basically means that you can immerse it in 1 meter of water for at least 1 hour. No way it should have water in it from being out in the rain - cover has nothing to do with it.
That may be true, but many of the early HDS had issues with the3M sealant around the screen failing. If the seals fail, waterproofing is out the window. The HDS7's were the worst, but it's a known problem, and is supposed to have been addressed. The recessed screen is diagnostic of the seal failing. |
