I use the Navionics app on my iphone all the time for ice fishing -- works great. What we need are monitors in our boats that run off a central CPU. The prices we pay right now for separate units is crazy. Think about it -- one CPU should cost maybe $1,000. 10.5" monitors shouldn't be more than a few hundred bucks a piece. Add a couple of transducers and a GPS receiver for a few hundred bucks more and you have a top of the line system in your boat for a total of $2,300. A Humminbird 1197 costs more than that alone.

This is what Lowrance should do to regain an edge over Humminbird.
