Location: Kodiak, AK | As always, Steve is dead-on. My simple, humble guess is that you've got it mounted too high up the V, or too high on the transom. Either way will pull it up and out of the water while on plane, which will give you a rooster tail and skew your high speed readings. Did you buy the unit new? If so, it should have come with instructions and they need to be closely followed. But it is common for guys to mount them too high up the V, which I know in Lowrance instructions is specifically addressed, complete with pics. |
