That's part of the issue. I would set your unit using those settings. I had the same issues your describing and once I adjusted it, it stopped. First I had to have the 2.5 update, which you have from the sounds of it. I would try this.

If that doesn't work, I'll bet your transducer is bad. Try your unit on someone elses boat if you can.
