make the bunks as long as possible. this will help to spread the weight out over more area when riding down the road. rollers actually put more stress on the hull (stress concentrations at the rollers) because the weight is on a smaller area. Go longer and wider with treated wood and staple carpet to the bunks making sure not to interfere with any vital parts of the hull (center runner, spray rails, etc.)
