A 23 tempest turns 5800 RPM on the 2008 Ranger 620 according to test data; load it up and you should still be in the proper operating range.

Another on a 2007, turning just near 5500 with a full fuel tank third hole up in 90 degree temps at 900'elevation fresh water, light winds:

I checked around, those running the 25 last year were running a hydraulic lift plate and a water pressure gauge.
