I shot video and stills of that rig quite often. It was very fast, that's for sure. If that's the goal, then that's the goal. Some guys red line the motor with a HI 5 to acquire optimum rough water handling, too. Since the original question didn't set parameters, I believe the answer needs to address the range of props that will run on differing set ups.

We ran a 250 Verado for a season a couple years ago, and were able to turn a 25, but optimum was a 23,we setteled on a Tempest Plus after trying several configurations. Top end with two people and full load was just at 65 on our rig. The 250 Verado is a very nice motor, but I really like the XS.
