Location: Kodiak, AK | I've not mounted mine yet. Hell, I haven't even hardly opened the box yet, other than to make sure everything was there. I know most of the bass guys mount them on their plates. I'd not worry about it on plane, as I think you're supposed to be less than 10 mph for optimum readings anyway; and if I'm not mistaken, closer to 2-6 mph...off plane. Not sure on those speeds, other than that's what I've gathered from the guys at BBC. And I know that some guys that have put them on the step have had issues with full coverage to the sides. I don't have a plate on my tug, so I'm thinking I'm going to do the bracket off the transom similar to my conventional transducer. Not ideal, but with no plate and not wanting to mess with the step/wedge set up, it's the best option for me. |
