Location: Contrarian Island		imo the Ram mounts are the only way to go...maybe a little over priced but they are rock solid ....you are spending 1000-2500 on a new HDS Unit imo 100 bucks to keep it in place isn't going it on the cheap...I have the big ram for a 8" lowrance...stays put. check ebay for the mounts...you might be able to find one on there or craigs list for less
