I had a crestliner fishhawk console with a lowrance 332 mounted on a ram attached to the gunnell right next to the console and then the puck was mounted on that plate shown in one of the pictures above, so it sat right behind the unit. I'm not sure if it was the proximity to the actual unit or the windshield but i experience periods of really bad reception with my antenna. I ended up moving the puck off of the bracket and located it all the way up front and the reception was never an issue again. I think they do recommend mounting the puck at least 3 feet from the sonar/gps unit.
