Also, a good idea for everybody is to carry jumper cables in your boat. If your starting battery is dead when you go to start the motor, hook it up to one of your trolling motor batteries with the jumper cables and get it started. Much quicker and safer than exchanging batteries. Pretty sure this is something Jonesi posted on here last winter that proved VERY useful for me this year.
