For those that said the 5.3 is a little underpowered, the rearend makes a HUGE difference. I have two 5.3's that pull a 21.5' Astro with a tandem axle trailer. They pull it COMPLETELY different. The Tahoe has road gears (assuming standard 3:42) in it and has to shift constantly. Our pickup has a 3:73 and pulls MUCH better. Always known that it obviously makes a difference, but I never realized how much until I owned both at the same time. I would obviously love to have 4:10's, but oh well. Something to look at for sure if you don't want a 3/4 ton or bigger for your daily driver.
