What the hell was the guy doing by putting himself in a possition where he COULD punch a hole in the bottom of the boat? I work in the mfg world and I find more often then not that careless/extream usage is the #1 cause of product failure. I'm very suspect of your friend and of you by throwing out blanket statements about a product the "failed" according to a "friend". I know people who have torn the transom off a Ranger 620. Does this make Rangers junk too.

Bottom line, this guy stuck a rock and is lucky that he only got a 2" hole out of the deal. If you think that it's because of cheap materials, go ask Teck what happened to his Lund. But then again Lund makes crap too, right [;)]
