Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion		I replaced 2 impellers in the last 3 yrs due to sucking up muck...... the 2nd one wasn't the problem, but the poppit valve was plugged....unplugged the poppit valve and haven't had any more issues.
It is wise to replace the impeller every 2 years if you put a lot of hrs in shallow water/lanches.
