YAKE BAIT - - - Check your owners manual, my 2003 DF 140 calls for 5600 RPM'S to 6200 RPM'S top speed. I run mine at 6000 RPM'S all the time as I seem to get better Gas mileage then at 6200 RPM'S my dealer says to run it flat out at 6200 but I get a little nervous running it at that speed I have run it up to 6300 RPM'S before it gave me a red light. With my standard from the factory SS 14x21 I get 50 mph. on a good day with just me in the boat at 6000 RPM'S I can get 52MPH at 6200 RPM'S but I dont like to push it. This set up gets me out of the hole like right now. I do run a glass boat that is fast so that helps. I would like to put a 150 Evenrude E-TEC on it just to see how fast it can go. Marv.
