I have rub Eagle units for years and loved them. Yes they are almost identical to the Lowarnce but with the price break. The one down side as TJ mentioned is the Networking between the units. As far as being able to fine tune and customize on the Eagle I do not see that as a issue. I have been able to go into my menu and adjust and tweak, fine tune things they way I would like them to read. I would not hesitate to get another Eagle unit again and will easliy consider it for the next boat. I don't think you would be disappointented in either unit. The only suggestion I would have is to get one as clear and detailed as you can afford. Both very good units. It is like Chevy and GM or Ford and Mercury. Same thing with a different name and features.
