I've got a 620 hull under a bay boat interior so it's not apples to apples, but I had a 200 VMAX before it blew, and with a 23M I was maxxing out at about 49-50 , so I think you're doing pretty good at your RPM. But if you're maxxing at 5400 you're about 600 low. That motor will (and should WOT) turn 6000. What prop do you have on it? With my 225 four stroke, I'm about 53-55 depending on load and conditions.

If you can get that motor to turn 6k, I'd look for 53. What's that hull rated at? Is that a 200 or 225 hull?
