I went with a Traxstech system on my boat and have the Folbes mounted to their flat mounting plates. i also have a couple clamp on down easters that they make a plate for as well. it really makes it nice to be able to adjust them on the sides of my boat depending on how many rods im running or if im trolling or sucker fishing. very versitle system. once you mount those tracks you will never have to drill holes in your gunwales again. even if you change rod holders you can simply change the adapter plates as needed. i have a smokercraft ultima, my tracks are bolted underneath with lockwashers and nuts. I also backed them with some wood for added strength.
