I have a 2003, Suzuki DF140 on my 17'7" HYDRA-SPORT Guide boat, and guided out of it for 5 years here on Cave Run lake year round. I retired from guiding 2 years ago but still put many hrs. on it runing it year round. Suzuki motors made them for Evinrude motors till Evinrude closed down in 2000. Evinrude just put their name on them and sold them as Evinrude 4Cl motors. I have had no problems with this motor since buying it new. I have Guided in snowstroms here on Cave Run and had all our reals freeze up and the SUZY started right up evertime. See if you can take it for a ride on a lake to see if you like it, and have a marine dealer check it out for you. The DF140 runs my boat at 48 mph. with 30% less gas then my 2cl. did. good luck Marv.
