My Ranger Cherokee had it mounted on the front of the motor, and I hated it. I had to costantly take my eyes off of the water to find it, which isn't safe, and I constantly was fighting with my back trying to find a comfortable position to do it from, but I never forund one. My console is a God send for my back ailments. Now I can drive without being a contortionist.
