Location: Freedom, WI		I used mobil 1 synthetic 80w90 gear lube for years with no problem. After all it is the same as a transmission/gearbox. Found synthetic works better if water gets in, it stays mixed with less chance of freezing if you do not get it changed soon enough in the fall.
