Location: Twin Cities | 01 Chevy 1/2 ton, ext cab short box, 5.3L. Boat is a 690 with a single axle trailer. I'd consider this truck underpowered and under braked to make towing this boat non-issue. It works pretty hard...
edit: we've towed this boat with a friends f150 that was two years newer with the 5.4 and it was the same result...used an F350 w/7.3 power stroke too, got the job done very well but at 12mpg, well...lame...
The 2500 duramax, now that was smooth sailing...18mpg too towing around 65mph...next purchase please.
