I am not sure exactly what is wrong with your unit, but if it is the same issue mine had(sounds like what mine was doing before it totally went out and wouldn't turn back on), it was not able to be repaired, and they replaced it, which was well worth the $312. Might be worth the diagnosis fee just to see if it is worth repairing, and if they'd replace the unit if not, if that is possible.
