All depends on where your fishing really. Some bodies of water are better with the Navionics chip and others are better with the Lakemaster Chip.

What waters do you spend most of your time on?

I know Navionics has improved a lot of their maps this year(the 2009 chip). They spent a lot of time on MN/WI waters last year(2008). Here is an interview with Jeff Brodeur at the 2009 NPAA meeting. This might answer some questions.
